Dit is een actieve rondreis waarin wandelen en bewegen centraal staan. Enkele van de hikes en fietsroutes die we aanbieden vragen de nodige fysieke inspanning. Indien je ten volle van al de activiteiten wil genieten is een goede basisconditie en evenwicht vereist. We zullen regelmatig door rotsachtige gebieden moeten navigeren en rond de 500 hoogtemeters moeten overwinnen.

In the summer of 2023, the journey along the highest peaks of fjord Norway will be available twice. This 10 day road trip will take place between27/07/2023-06/08/2023 and between 11/08/2023-20/08/2023.

The pick-up and drop-off location are at Keflavik Airport (Reykjavik). There is a daily direct flight to Keflavik from Brussels Zaventem and Schiphol Amsterdam.

We love healthy eating and cooking. We always provide balanced meals that provide the necessary energy for all our activities. During our trips, we mainly cook vegetarian, but it is not difficult for us to take into account intolerances (gluten-free, lactose-free, ...) or other diets (vegan). Meat eaters don't worry, we also make sure that there is a local delicacy (lamb, fish, ...) on the menu.
Physical
This is an active tour where hiking and movement take center stage. Some of the hikes and bike routes we offer require a significant physical effort. If you want to fully enjoy all the activities, a good basic fitness level and balance are required. We will regularly navigate through rocky areas and ascend around 500 meters in altitude.

Is reizen met een hotel op wielen iets voor mij?
Reizen met ons hotel op wielen is een fantastische manier om Ijsland te ontdekken. Vooral als je van vrijheid, flexibiliteit en avontuur houdt, maar toch graag over het nodige comfort beschikt. Ons hotel op wielen is namelijk volledig voorzien om jou te voorzien van alle comfort: douche, toilet, comfortabel bed met privacy,... Verder slapen we steeds in het midden van de natuur en verandert het zicht vanuit je bed elke dag!
Ik ben een introvert is zo'n groepsreis iets voor mij?
So are we! Reizen in een groep kan een uitdaging zijn voor introverte mensen, omdat het vaak betekent dat je veel tijd doorbrengt in de nabijheid van anderen. Dit betekent echter niet dat deze reis niet geschikt is voor introverte reizigers. We reizen in een kleine groep, waardoor je je snel met iedereen verbonden voelt. We hechten veel belang aan me-time, we creëren voldoende plek en ruimte zodat iedereen zich kan terugtrekken om op te laden. Verder trekken we steeds reizigers aan met vergelijkbare interesses en creëert de Ijslandse natuur enorm veel ruimte om te ontprikkelen. Onze reizen zijn de perfecte plek om je comfortzone uit te breiden, nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten en waardevolle ervaringen op te doen.
Kan mijn hond mee?
Het is heel erg moeilijk om met een hond uit het Europese vasteland in Ijsland te reizen. Een hond moet namelijk voor 2 weken in quarantaine bij aankomst in Ijsland, kosten kunnen oplopen tot 4000 euro. Wij laten Kyra ook thuis.
Hoe is het weer in Ijsland?
Het weer in de zomer in IJsland is over het algemeen milder dan in de winter, maar het kan nog steeds behoorlijk variabel en onvoorspelbaar zijn. Het IJslandse klimaat wordt beïnvloed door zijn noordelijke ligging en de aanwezigheid van de Atlantische Oceaan. Verwacht lange dagen, wisselvallig weer, regen, wind en zon. Kortom, de zomer is een geweldige tijd om IJsland te bezoeken vanwege de langere dagen en het mildere weer, maar het is belangrijk om voorbereid te zijn op snel veranderende weer omstandigheden.
Hoe fysiek uitdagend is dit avontuur?
Voor dit avontuur moet je in een goede gezondheid verkeren. Verder moet je in staat zijn om zonder probleem 20 kilometer te wandelen.
Hoe groot is de groep?
In onze bus is er plaats voor 9 passagiers. We nemen dus max. 6 gasten mee. De kleine groep zorgt direct voor een gezellige sfeer en een groepsgevoel.
Wat moet ik meenemen?
Bij het boeken van deze trip krijg je van ons een roadboek toegestuurd met een uitgebreide paklijst. Materiaal die je zeker moet voorzien voor een reis door IJsland zijn wandelschoenen (type B!), goede regenjas en warme lagen.
